Speech 2 outline

Speech Outline 2
1.     Present the problem
a.     Every year 1.5 million cats and dogs are put down in the Humane Societies throughout America

b.     They get put down because they are either not wanted due to their looks, or are just too old and no one want to adopt them
2.     Present the solution
a.     My idea is to build sanctuaries around the country that can house all these unwanted animals and allow them to live out their lives on their terms and die when they decide it is time.
b.     These facilities would come with all the thing necessary to take care of all of these animals including: food, shelter, medicine, baths, & water.
c.     Dogs/cats would be circulated amongst sanctuaries around the country.
d.     Present plans for what sanctuary would look like.
3.     Impact
a.     Through this plan we would be allowing these animals to live their lives as they were meant to.
b.     Allow these animals to be happy until the end of their lives. Most animals that are put down in shelters across America the majority of them are over the age of twelve years. So, the animals would not be around for that much longer either way, but at least we are giving them a natural death.

Topic Proposal

Dear Professor Hem,
I am writing you this proposal on the topic of the euthanization of dogs and cats within the United States of America Humane Society system. My proposal suggests a solution that would all together get rid of the need to euthanize these creatures.
This plan proposes a plan to build a sanctuary for the animals that would otherwise be euthanized in the Humane Societies around the country. Approximately 1.5 million dogs and cats are put down every year. 670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats lose their lives due to old age or even just not being wanted. This plan would allow these unwanted animals to live out the rest of their lives on their own term and until they decide they want to die. These sanctuaries would provide all the necessary functions for these animals to live happily. People would also be allowed to come visit and potentially purchase one of the animals in the facility.
This proposal would only require three things: food, land, and facilities. Each facility would be equipped with a certified vet to perform vaccine injections and mandatory inspections. Each facility also having multiple cleaning stalls so the animals will remain clean and presentable.
Thanks,
Danny Maiers

Speech 2

Speech #2

This assignment is taking all the knowledge that we have learned thus far in this class and putting it all towards one final speech. For this speech we will be taking a problem that is currently in the world and proposing a solution to said problem. Then explain as to why your solution is the most efficient way to deal with the problem. The speech has to be a least 5 minutes long and also must include a one page reflection over how you are going to present this speech.

Questions:
1.) Do we have to explain who the target audience is?
2.) Are there any topics that are off limits?
3.) Can we choose a topic that has already been resolved?
4.) Do we have to explain the specific steps to solving our problems?
