Introduction, and Methods

News is something that people watch every day. They rely on it to get information about the world they are living in and in today’s world there is always news to be reported. Something new or tragic happening every day. Every news source claims that they are reporting the truth, but not all of them do so. As it turns out a surprising amount of supposedly credible news sources may not be reliable as most may think. Which should not come as a surprise because naturally everyone has their own opinion on a subject and if they can get as many other people as possible to have the same opinion as them, they are going to do that. Some news sources are very biased in the way that they report the news.

There are many ways that one could prove how powerful and how bias news sources are. For this assignment a survey was conducted. A survey was the best method to get information. It gave us real facts from real people, so none of the information would be swayed one way. It also allowed to see if people know what they are watching is biased. Also, it was revealed that many people have no clue as to what news source is the least bised.

Topic

The topic that I chose for this was authenticity of new sources. I chose this topic because the news sources are huge opinion leaders, and if what they are telling people is false. Then they are spreading fake news and I do not believe that is right.

Research question:
Where do news sources stand on the political spectrum?
How many people are viewing these sources?

To conduct this experiment I will analyze data that all the news sources have received and then see how they provide that information to the public. Also, I will try an experiment by watch news sources receive information and then see how long it takes to put out and see what side of the spectrum the article falls.

Major Speech 1

Personally I believe that I did excellent on this first speech. This is one assignment that I actually had put time into, and was very proud of my work. I guess the one thing that I could have done less of was sentence fillers. I found myself saying "um" quite a bit. One aspect that I think that I will need to fix is not only like what I said about sentence filler, but I also just kind of need my slides to flow together better. I guess to do better next I will just work harder.

IMRaD Paper

IMRaD papers are very different from papers that I have previously written in many ways. One big way that this style of paper is different is that it has to include a chart in some way. Another way that this paper is different from other ones that I have written is that it is split up into categories. The categories of this paper go: introduction, methods, results, and discussion. Most other papers I have written the paragraphs kind of just flowed together smoothly, but I feel as though this paper will feel very split up.
